Chris starts telling dirty jokes at school after he secretly listens to his parents' Redd Foxx album. Meanwhile, Rochelle tries to set up a blind date for her mom, Maxine (Loretta Devine); and Drew is pestered by a girl who keeps telling friends that he kissed her.
After school, Chris goes to meet Joey to fight and get his bus pass back. He has a plan: fights always get split up quickly so he has to get a good first punch.
Chris wants a portable cassette player for Christmas but his parents cannot afford to buy one. At school, Chris brings in canned goods for the needy and is surprised to find out that the food is for him.
